Our IFE grounding plugs and bolts provide cost-effective and reliable protection for aircraft and mobile installations. They are the only plugs with built-in breakaway protection.
Traditionally, special screw connections were used for grounding aircraft and power grids in maintenance hangars. These connections are time-consuming to connect and disconnect and can pose risks if not disconnected before the aircraft moves. To address these issues, we developed our grounding plug with breakaway protection.
The grounding plug is an extremely robust, all-metal plug with a quick-release coupling and integrated mechanical overload protection. It ensures reliable and easy-to-install grounding. The built-in breakaway protection prevents damage to the aircraft if the cable is pulled too hard, even if the plug is forgotten and not removed before takeoff.

We offer grounding plugs with preassembled, high-quality, flexible, and robust grounding cables of any desired length, as well as additional accessories such as ferrules and cable lugs.

Step-by-Step installation guide for IFE grounding plugs
Cable assembly for IFE Plugs (Type IFE 200-1):
- Prepare the cable: Ensure the cable has a crimped ferrule.
- Remove the strain relief: Disassemble the rear section and loosen the set screws (just enough to free the inner section).
- Insert the cable: Slide the cable through the strain relief and fully insert it into the copper coupling.
- Tighten the set screws: Secure the first screw tightly, followed by the second, using a maximum torque of 3 Nm.
- Reattach the strain relief: Reassemble the rear section and ensure everything is firmly secured.
- Finish: The cable is now correctly installed.
